SOME BACKGROUND AND WHAT WE DO...

My name is Derek Welch. In 2013, I graduated from University of St Andrews, Scotland, one of the oldest (1613) and voted the best 2019 university in the UK. I graduated with an MA in Art History and English. I specialised in Renaissance, French Society and First World War Painting; as well as studying Thomas Hardy, Scottish Contemporary Poetry, Robert Burns and Shakespeare. I was also accredited in: Philosophy, Psychology, Anthropology and Modern History from 1945 -1968.

I spent several years in publishing, working for a national publishing house, as an Art Editor and most recently delivering education programmes and events for a National Agency.

 

I have completed Business Management in the Art World and Curation at Sotheby's Institute of Art in London. I enhanced my curation knowledge further studying at The Royal College of Art in Battersea and Kensington Gore, London. Throughout the year, I attend various art fairs across Europe and the UK, including Art Basel, Frieze London and Venice Biennale; extending my network and providing more choice for clients.
